Collection: Andrei Farcasanu

Andrei Farcasanu is a Romanian photographer living and working in Barcelona, Spain. He works with black and white analog photography, and hand made prints in a small sizes. His work focuses on intimate pictorial photography used as a way to investigate the subtle details of everyday life.

Through his minimalist photography, the reduced size of his works and the fact that Farcasanu transforms his images to a level of unique and singular objects, the observer has to come closer to study the details in order to understand his message; he thus slows down the rhythm of modern life.

Farcasanu graduated from the National University of Arts Bucharest and the Academy of Fine Arts, where he majored in painting (2003). He also holds a Master degree in Photography (2005) and a PhD in photography with the thesis Social Photography (2013).
